Install Claude Code on your computer
Install Claude Code on a Windows PC: download, PowerShell, first sign-in. Step-by-step guide, in 2 minutes.
Install
Go to claude.com/claude-code and click Install (Windows). The installer also installs Node.js — nothing else to do.
Open PowerShell
Press the Windows key, type “PowerShell”, then Enter. The black window that opens is the terminal.
Sign in
Type claude, then Enter. On first launch: choose “Login with Claude.ai” and sign in with your account (a Claude subscription is required).
You're in
The screen shows “Hello! Welcome to Claude Code”. Type your first question, then go back to a skill's page and paste its install command.
