Funding an AI training course depends first on your legal status, not on where you are. An independent architect falls under the FIFPL; an employee falls under the OPCO attached to their practice. In both cases, the training body must be Qualiopi-certified. On the deadlines side: the OPCO requires the application before the training, the FIFPL accepts it up to ten calendar days after the first day — beyond that, the application is inadmissible.
Independent or agency employee: two circuits, two logics
Ask yourself the question before comparing programmes: independent or employee, that is what determines your circuit. The FIFPL reimburses the training of the independent professional themselves; the OPCO funds the training of employees through the company, and it is the practice that makes the request, according to its NAF/APE code.

The deadlines: before the session (OPCO), within ten days (FIFPL)
The deadlines are strict and differ by circuit: the OPCO rejects an application filed after the session has started; the FIFPL admits filing up to ten calendar days after the first day of training, beyond which the application is inadmissible. The FIFPL covers an independent architect's AI training under three conditions: being up to date with their training contribution, choosing a Qualiopi-certified training body, and establishing a direct link between the training and professional practice.
What the architects' section covers
The professional section for architects sets its 2026 criteria at 900 € per year and 300 € per day, according to the scale published by the FIFPL — amounts to verify before signing a quote, as the criteria are revised every year. Since 1 January 2022, the training body's Qualiopi certification is a condition of any funding: without it, you pay out of pocket.
From filing the application to reimbursement: the real journey
Step 1: Identify your section and check your ceiling. The architects' section is managed on the fifpl.fr portal: that is where you file the request.
Step 2: Gather the documents without delay. Detailed programme, signed quote or training agreement, proof of payment of the training contribution: everything must be sent at the latest ten calendar days after the first day of training.
Step 3: Attend the training, then send the supporting documents. Certificate of attendance and paid invoice are sent after the session; reimbursement follows, according to the fund's processing times.

The OPCO for agency employees in Albi, Castres or Mazamet
For an agency employee, AI training is funded through the company's OPCO, determined by its NAF/APE code. An SME with fewer than 11 employees can aim for full coverage of training costs; beyond that, rates and ceilings depend on the OPCO and the branch.

The documents that make up a solid application
Four documents make up the application: the detailed programme, the quote and training agreement, the training body's Qualiopi certificate, and information on the participants. The request is filed before the training, generally 30 days before, and processing takes 2 to 6 weeks.

AI does not replace the architect's responsibility
If a hallucination or an inconsistent visual ends up in a deliverable, it is your name that is at stake, not the tool's. Training brings mastery of the AI tools for architects and verification reflexes; it transfers neither the signature, nor the insurance, nor the project's responsibility.

Does Qualiopi certification amount to recognition by the Order of Architects?
No. Qualiopi certification attests the quality of the training body's process, required since 2022 for any OPCO or FIFPL funding; it confers no recognition from the Order and does not replace the architect's registration and continuing-education obligations. A certificate of completion documents your participation; it does not change your professional status.
Can the CPF fund an AI training course for architects?
The CPF is not the funding route for these courses. For an independent architect, the circuit is the FIFPL; for an agency employee, the OPCO. The classic trap consists in waiting until you can use your CPF, filing no application, and discovering too late that the funding can no longer be committed.
