Market Funnel

Maps your sales funnel and finds the leaks.

What the skill does

In detail.

Rebuilds your sales funnel step by step from your site: where visitors come from, where they click, where they drop. Finds the leaks and ranks them by revenue impact, with prioritized fixes.

When to use it

Traffic comes in but few sales come out, and you don't know where it breaks.

Usage example

1 · The simplest way

Copy and paste into any AI chat

This button copies the whole skill. Paste it into Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini, then describe what you need. No installation required.

In a chat, Word or Excel files can't always be generated: you'll receive the document as structured text instead, and Claude will flag it.

Open Claude.ai and create the skill

On claude.ai, open your profile (bottom left) → Customize → Skills tab → + button → Create skill. Upload the .zip you just downloaded.

3

Toggle it on and use the skill

The skill shows up in your list — flip the toggle. In any conversation, type the command (e.g. /market-quick followed by a URL).

Using Claude Code (terminal or app)?

The ZIP works there too: unzip it into ~/.claude/skills/ (Mac/Linux) or C:\Users\YourName\.claude\skills\ (Windows), then restart Claude Code.

In depth

How this skill really works

Market Funnel rebuilds a site's complete conversion path, from first visit to purchase, from a single URL. Before any technical analysis, the skill imposes a mandatory, non-skippable "customer journey" layer: every visitor sequentially crosses three emotional phases — Awareness (trying to understand their problem), Consideration (comparing options), Purchase (choosing who to buy from) — and every technical funnel step must be explicitly tagged to one of the three. A site with only product/pricing pages and no Awareness content gets flagged as a priority flaw, not a passing observation.

With that layer set, the skill maps every funnel page (type, expected action, exit points, friction and trust elements) and scores five dimensions per page — clarity, continuity, motivation, friction, trust — out of 10. It then calculates revenue per visitor (RPV) and quantifies the impact of every potential fix in currency, not just percentage.

Recommendations are ranked in a 5-tier priority matrix (impact x effort), with generic, already-documented fixes for the most common breakpoints (homepage, pricing, signup, checkout) and an optional lead-magnet scoring. Everything is written to FUNNEL-ANALYSIS.md with an overall funnel health score out of 100.

When to use it

  • When traffic comes into the site but few sales come out, without knowing where it breaks.
  • To check that the site covers all 3 phases of the customer journey, not just the sales page.
  • Before prioritizing a CRO project, to know which funnel stage has the strongest revenue impact.
  • When the revenue impact (RPV) of an optimization needs to be quantified before launching it.
  • To check the alignment between traffic sources and the funnel entry point that fits them.

When not to use it

  • Not for the detailed CRO audit of a single landing page (forms, speed, visual hierarchy) — that's /market-landing.
  • Not for creating the ad creatives that bring in new traffic — that's /market-ads.
  • Not for writing the recommended email sequences — the skill indicates which sequence type fits each stage; /market-emails writes them.

The method

The mandatory 3-phase customer journey layer

Phase 0 of the SKILL.md imposes this grid before any technical funnel analysis: it is explicitly documented as sequential and irreversible, and serves to verify that the funnel the business built matches the journey the buyer actually experiences.

1. Awareness
The buyer has a problem they can no longer ignore: they're seeking understanding, not yet a solution. Marketing must supply educational content (blog, SEO, social) to be found when they search.
2. Consideration
They compare options (DIY, competitors, different approaches), read reviews, check social proof. Marketing must supply comparison content, case studies, testimonials.
3. Purchase
They're ready to buy but hesitate on who and whether it's worth it. Marketing must supply an irresistible offer, risk reversal, urgency, and a clear CTA.

Steps

Align the technical funnel with the emotional journey

Tag every funnel step to Awareness, Consideration, or Purchase, and flag any misalignment (missing Awareness content, a direct jump to Purchase) as HIGH priority.

Detect the funnel type and map each step

Identify the funnel type (lead gen, SaaS trial, e-commerce...), document every page (URL, type, action, friction, trust, exit points), then build an ASCII funnel map.

Score every page on 5 dimensions

Assign a 0-10 score to clarity, continuity, motivation, friction, and trust for every page, diagnose common drop-off causes, and score the lead magnet if one exists.

Calculate RPV and quantify revenue impact

Compare funnel metrics against the detected type's benchmarks, calculate revenue per visitor, and quantify revenue-gain scenarios for the proposed fixes.

Prioritize via the impact/effort matrix and align emails and traffic

Rank every fix from P1 to P5, map each funnel stage to the fitting email sequence type, and align each traffic source with the funnel entry point that suits it.

Rules

  • Every funnel step must be explicitly tagged to one of the 3 customer journey phases — never left unclassified.
  • Flag as HIGH priority any missing Awareness content or any direct jump from Awareness to Purchase without a Consideration phase.
  • Score every page on the 5 dimensions strictly on a 0-10 scale.
  • Calculate RPV with the formula RPV = Monthly Revenue / Monthly Visitors, and use it to quantify every recommendation in currency impact, not just percentage.
  • Rank every recommendation in the 5-tier matrix (P1 high impact/low effort down to P5 low impact).
  • Compare measured conversion rates against the detected funnel type's benchmarks, never against a generic universal figure.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Analyzing the technical funnel without first checking alignment with the 3 mandatory customer journey phases.
  • Treating a site that jumps from Awareness to Purchase as normal rather than a priority flaw.
  • Giving a recommendation without quantifying its revenue impact via RPV.
  • Comparing an e-commerce funnel to a SaaS trial funnel's benchmarks, ignoring the detected funnel type.
  • Confusing a low friction score with a low trust score — these are two distinct scoring dimensions.

What this skill doesn't do

  • Does not create the ad creatives or manage the budget that brings traffic to the funnel — that's /market-ads; Market Funnel diagnoses the existing path, it doesn't generate its paid distribution.
  • Does not rewrite the copy of pages identified as weak — detailed rewrites belong to /market-copy for the site or /market-landing for a single conversion page.
  • Does not write the email sequences it recommends — only indicates which sequence fits which stage; /market-emails writes them.
  • Does not build the offer or its pricing structure — relies on the one that already exists; offer design is /market-offer's role.
  • Is purely diagnostic — identifies leaks and prioritizes fixes, but implements nothing itself.
